WARD JENE STROUD is an American Indian flute player, maker and sculpture artist. He lived most his life with his father and his grandmother who was born on the "Cherokee" reservation in Oklahoma. His experience in music comes from early childhood memories of making music with his mother, a full blooded Yaqui Indian woman. The flute is an extension of his spirit voice, from that special place where his heart speaks. Ward now studies shakuhachi and has created a healing synthesis of Native American and traditional Japanese music.
