LARRY TYRRELL studied shakuhachi in America with Masayuki Koga and in Japan with Kohachiro Miyate and Yokoyama Katsuya. He was composer-in-residence and a performing member of the Okayama Hogaku Ensemble which premiered his works in Japan in 1992 and 1993.
