HELEN DRYZ & KIM OSWALT are RAKUGAKI, a group which combines the sound of the shakuhachi with the 13- and 20-string koto. Helen studied Kinko Ryu shakuhachi with Yamaguchi Goro, the Dokyoku tradition with Yokoyama Katsuya and modern jazz shakuhachi with John Kaizan Neptune. Kim studied koto with Keiko Nosaka and has performed with a women's taiko drumming troupe
