Meiho Noel MacDonald is roshi at the Hounji Zen Center (Phoenix Cloud Temple) in Taos, New Mexico. He has been playing shakuhachi for many years. Hounji is a Soto Zen Buddhist temple in the lineage of Houn Kobun Otagawa Zenji. Teacher at Hounji is Rev. Meiho Noel MacDonald. Meiho, which means "Bright Phoenix"  studied with Kobun Zenji for twenty four years at Hokoji in Taos and in California and received Dharma transmission from him in 1991.

This exciting Southern Nevada taiko troupe is composed of uchite (taiko drummers) who have a deep respect for taiko, and dedicate many hours learning and sharing this ancient art form. Kaminari means "thunder". Experience their performances, then understand why this group is so named.
